Things To See and Do
Washington DC

The capital of the world's wealthiest and most powerful nation possesses a graceful dignity that's captured in its monuments, museums and memorials. Only a handful of cities rival Washington, DC's history and influence, and visits to the Lincoln Memorial, the White House or the Smithsonian leave lifetime impressions, as do somber moments spent at the Arlington National Cemetery, the U.S. Holocaust Museum or the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. WashingtonDC.com's guide to the nation's capital embraces its neighborhoods and major attractions, hidden rooftop restaurants and power dining spots, as well as events ranging from street fairs and DJ nights to the national Cherry Blossom Festival held every spring.

Reston Town Center Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary - 1990-2010!

A year-long celebration of the 20th anniversary of Reston Town Center will kick off at the 19th annual Reston Holiday Parade on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 11 AM, with the theme: "Defining. Inspiring. 20 Years". Grand Marshals of the parade will include some of Reston Town Center's original developers and staff. The successful, oft-emulated mixed-use Reston Town Center began in October 1990 with the opening of Phase One, the block between Library and Presidents Street, which includes the centerpiece and community gathering plaza of Fountain Square. With the open-air glass Pavilion added in 1993, Reston Town Center is a premier destination for special events of all sizes and ice-skating in winter. Today, Reston Town Center boasts more than 50 stylish shops and 30 restaurants and, as planned, has become a "downtown for the 21st Century".
